Join me for 5 days of painting parks in London!
Together we’ll explore atmosphere, light and landscape through observational watercolour painting across some of the city’s most beautiful green spaces.
Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, the workshops will include demonstrations, guided exercises, individual feedback and independent painting time, with a focus on observation, tonal sensitivity, expressive mark-making and confidence in watercolour.

Preserve the white of the paper for light and contrast
Create atmosphere through tonal relationships
Use lost and found edges
Create a focal point through restraint
How the day works:
A relaxed but focused day centred on observation, simplification and atmosphere.
Morning
Demonstration, discussion and guided exercises.
Lunch
Participants are encouraged to bring a packed lunch and drinking water.
Afternoon
Extended independent painting with individual feedback and support.

Materials
Please bring:
a selection of watercolour brushes
watercolour paints
watercolour paper or sketchbook
drawing board and masking tape
fold-up chair or rug to sit on
water container/cup holder
water for painting
suitable clothing for outdoor painting
If you do not have all of the materials, please contact me in advance and I will see if I can provide spare supplies.
What if it rains?
In the case of heavy rain, an indoor London location will be arranged and participants will be notified in advance.
