London Parks in Watercolour

Painting Light, Atmosphere & Landscape in Watercolour

Aug 3rd - 7th

10am - 4pm daily

£320

Max 12 participants

Join me for 5 days of painting parks in London!

Together we’ll explore atmosphere, light and landscape through observational watercolour painting across some of the city’s most beautiful green spaces.

Suitable for beginners and experienced artists alike, the workshops will include demonstrations, guided exercises, individual feedback and independent painting time, with a focus on observation, tonal sensitivity, expressive mark-making and confidence in watercolour.

What you'll learn

  • Identify the main shapes

  • Reduce visual noise

  • Decide what to leave out

  • Preserve the white of the paper for light and contrast

  • Create atmosphere through tonal relationships

  • Use lost and found edges

  • Create a focal point through restraint

How the day works:

A relaxed but focused day centred on observation, simplification and atmosphere.

Morning

Demonstration, discussion and guided exercises.

Lunch

Participants are encouraged to bring a packed lunch and drinking water.

Afternoon

Extended independent painting with individual feedback and support. ‍ ‍
